Guru Lhakhang (Tamang Gompa) at Boudhanath Stupa

This is an intimate space for ritual performances that sits on the top floor of the temple that is colloquially known as the Tamang Gompa at Boudhanath stupa. The central image is of the 8th century tantric master, Padmasambhava (“Guru Rinpoche”), who is credited with helping to establish Buddhism in Tibet.

There are some holes in the model where the photography was insufficient. The vertical, circular greenish object sticking up from the row of desks on one side is a drum, important for tantric rituals. Be sure to look up and see the library of texts stored up high near the ceiling.
